Why? We listen to our drummers. Buried cymbals are the stuff of legend and we get hundreds of inquiries about them every year. Rumour has it that burying can shape the sound of a cymbal, as if it had been aged for years.

To find out, we've buried 100 custom-sized 21" Vault Artisan cymbals. They'll endure 8 months of the Canadian elements before they're excavated on June 1, 2009. Once unearthed, they'll be authenticated by master product specialist Mark Love and individually packaged in deluxe cedar boxes.

Will they sound better? Dirtier? Smoother? We don't know. But we're excited to find out.
