  Todd Sucherman Invades Northern California
On Thursday December 5th Sabian Artist Todd Sucherman took time out of his busy schedule with the band Styx to perform a sold out clinic at Gelb Music in Redwood City, CA. There was literally standing room only from the start of the clinic. Todd's musicality and blistering chops are beyond belief! But regardless of his amazing chops, his clinics are so educational and very inspirational. After Todd's performance he signed autographs for everyone back at Gelb's drum department. All proceeds from the concert went to the Toys for Tots Foundation.

the next stop was on Saturday, December 7th at Skip's Music in Sacramento, CA. Todd performed to a sold out crowd at Sacramento State University. Again, he amazed everyone in attendance. Todd has the perfect blend of chops, groove and total musicality that every drummer can learn from. Modern Drummer magazine voted Todd's new DVD, Methods and Mechanics, the number one educational video and number one Rock drummer in 2009. Todd performed some insane grooves, took a solo, then performed several tunes from Taylor Mills new record "Under The Surface" in which Todd co-wrote and produced. Then after answering tons of questions from fans of all ages, Todd played along with the Styx hit "Renegade" to close the show!

If Todd comes to a city near you, please do yourself a favor and check out one of his clinics. You will definitely be inspired.

Sabian Rules at Guitar Center's Drum Off Regional Finals, Chicago, 12.3!
Hello all,, I have not blogged in a while,,,, too much time on the road selling cymbals!
I attended the Guitar Center Drum Off Regional Finals last week, at the GC Alrington Heights location.
The joint was jumping,,, packed to to the gills with an excited Drum Off crowd.
Sabian had all 3 judges this year,, myself,... and the always loveable Gregg Potter, (with his recent Emmy award), and Rex Hardy Jr, drummer for Mary J Blige!
We all had many great stories and laffs during the event.
My good friend, Johnny Rabb, opened the show with his blistering technique on a Roland kit.
The competition was heated, and every drummer was great. The decision was difficult, but,, the winner was Eugene McBride, from Flint, MI.
Eugene had 'come to win',,, which he did! His style was controlled, fast, and exact,.. with enough flair to make me smile!
I wish Eugene the best at the finals in Calif on 1.8.2010. I am sure he will spin some heads!

See ya on the road!

Bob
