Whether working with well-known artists, indie luminaries or emerging talents, Pop, Rock, Latin-Jazz, R&B, Funk, Fusion, Soukous, Singer-Songwriter, EDM, Folk, Country, you name it, his musical contributions have been heard by millions.
Ron has worked with Alicia Keys, Rob Thomas, Sophie B. Hawkins, Taj Mahal, Debbie Gibson, Jewel, Moby & Gwen Stefani, Traum Diggs, Anita Prime, Willie Nelson & Hank Williams Jr., David Guetta, Slash, Bethany Joy Lenz, Sarah McLachlan, Denise Pearson and Billy Ocean, DJ Logic, The Southern Companion, Dweezil Zappa, Ashlee Simpson, Mercedes Ferrer, Lizzy Mercier, Beyoncé, Passenger, Taylor Dayne, Judie Tsuke, Ellie Lawson, Al DiMeola, Mike Stern, Matt Garrison, Oz Noy, Jon Hammond, Rick Margitza, Rufus Reid, and Hiram Bullock. He has shared drumming duties on albums alongside icons Jeff Porcaro, John "JR" Robinson, Dennis Chambers, Gary Husband, Billy Cobham, Billy Ward, and Vinnie Colaiuta.
Ron has been honored with 8 Grammy nominations for his drumming and music production work, and is a recipient for Alicia Keys double-Grammy winning hit single "No One". Recently, Ron took to primetime TV where he appeared as an on-camera character on NBC TV's "Lipstick Jungle" alongside Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Andrew McCarty.
As a bandleader, Ron formed the "True Story Band" in 2000, and toured the group through Europe, Japan, Canada, and the USA in support of the band's two releases, "...Works" (TP Records) and "Grain" (EFA/JVC). Ron's new band, "Elimotion", has completed a new album "Elimotion 1', featuring bassist Matt Garrison, turntablist DJ Logic and guitarist Elijah Steele.
Ron has conducted more than 750 master classes, clinics and workshops throughout Europe, North America, South America, Oceania and the North Pacific, and is currently an Artist-In-Residence at Drummers Collective NYC. He has been a featured headline performer at The Montreal International Drum Festival, The TUDW Ultimate Drummers Festival in Melbourne Australia, The Vancouver International Drum Festival, The Batteur International Drum Festival in Paris France, KOSA International Drum Festival (both as a solo mainstage performer and in a trio setting with Johnny Rabb and Steve Smith), The Victoria International Drum Festival, and has performed clinics at Drummers Collective, Music Academy International (France), Berklee College of Music, UVIC, UBC, McGill University, The Sorbonne, Mainz Music College, SAE College and Prime Music Academy in New Zealand. In addition to appearances on Drumeo TV and on multiple segments for Evans Educational Webcast Series, Ron's unique philosophy and approach to drumming is showcased in an instructional drumming video entitled "Phraseology and Individuality on the Drumset" released in Europe on the Editions-Connections label. The video was voted as one of the "25 All-Time Must Have Drum Videos" in Batteur Magazine's 2010 readers poll.
