Matt Brusca is currently the Assistant Band Director/Percussion Coordinator for Bartlesville Public Schools. He previously held positions as Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Messenger College and Drum Line Instructor/Arranger for the Illinois State University Big Red Marching Machine. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Missouri Southern State University and a Master's degree in Percussion Performance from Illinois State University.
Matt is currently on staff with WGI Independent World Class Finalist, Gateway Indoor and DCI Open Class Finalist, the Colt Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. He has been on staff with the Yamaha Sounds of Summer Camp for five years in addition to instructing and arranging for high school drum lines throughout the Midwest. He instructed and co-designed for medalists Joplin High School Winter Drum Line and Webb City High School Winter Drum Line, within the MCCGA circuit. He is the Co-Founder/Director of the U.S.-Serbian Drum Line Exchange which presented clinics and performances on U.S. marching percussion in Novi Sad and Belgrade, Serbia during the summers of 2011 and 2012.
Matt's performing experiences include marching with the Kansas City Royal Thunder Drum Line, the Chicago Bulls Stampede Drum Line and as a WGI Independent World Class Finalist with Gateway Indoor in 2008 and 2009. He has performed with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Ozark Festival Orchestra, Peoria Municipal Band, Brass Band of Central Illinois, Chicago Bears Drum Line, and the Collide Praise Band. Matt has also performed for Exit Festival (Novi Sad, Serbia), BELEF Festival (Belgrade, Serbia), Marian Days Festival, the Kansas PAS Day of Percussion, the NCAA Cross Country Championships, and has been seen performing on FOX, TBS, ESPN, and the MLB Network.
