OSCAR D'AURIA CLINIC
The clinic took place on May the 11th, 2009 at hall of the Sindicato de Trabajadores in Loma de Zamora, province of Buenos Aires, hosted by the school of music Enciclomúsica and open to general public.
Oscar performed argentine rhythms playing the cajón rumbero in duo with Alejandro Sedano on bombo legüero and boleadoras; closing with the folklore fusion group Los Díaz: Marcelo Díaz on electroacoustic guitar, Néstor Díaz on 6-string electric bass, Marcelo Heuman on bombo legüero and Oscar D’Auria on drums.
Oscar gave a seminar on drumming: rudiments, rhythms on differents styles, general tips, song playing - with the aid of prerecorded tracks -, drum solos at different tempi and genres using mallets, brushes, hot-rods and drumsticks. He answered questions from the audience, shared amusing anecdotes connected with drumming and actual stories from the music scene, he played a duet along with his son Alan, and encouraged drummers among the audience to come to the stage and play so they could test by themselves the sound quality and power of SABIAN cymbals.
Oscar introduced his varied cymbal set-up that rounds up his Gretsch drums, namely;
