John Favicchia is one of those drummers more people should know about, and now is the time to check him out. Just back from a series of clinic dates in Italy, where stops included Bologna, Rimini, and Florence among others, this tremendous talent performed for audiences at Toronto's Cosmo Music, Music Pro in Barrie, Wizdom Music in Hamilton, and Long & McQuade in Mississauga. Playing a 6-piece kit, he delivered solos and grooves that ran the gamut of styles, with chops and musicality combining with creativity and a great sense of dynamics. And it's really worth noting that his solos burn! Here's a guy who really goes for it. In a 2001 review, John's CD Dharma was described as ‘truly a work of art.’ Said Ted and the staff at Music Pro: "Our customers will be talking about this clinic for months to come." Believe it!
