SABIAN's Director of Education, Nick Petrella, presented percussion clinics on June 21 and 22 for the 213 band directors currently enrolled in the graduate program at the American Band College, held at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon   He covered numerous technical and musical aspects of percussion, as well as how to play and teach others how to play a variety of instruments.

The American Band College started in 1989 as a way for band directors to earn graduate credit.  Since 1992 ABC has offered a Master's Degree (Master of Music), which is accredited through Southern Oregon University.  The College has grown from the first class of 6 graduates in 1994 to 47 in 2008!  Over the years, nearly 500 graduates from 45 different states, Canada and Greece have gone through the ABC program.
