On Saturday and Sunday September 20 & 21 2008 in Rye, New York at the campus of Purchase College 2000 Drum-fans descended on the Performing Arts Center to see 11 Stellar performances by International Drum-stars including Will Calhoun, Dafnis Prieto, Todd Sucherman and Carmine Appice.

On Saturday the 20th Will Calhoun entertained the near sold-out audience with his brand of ethereal, World music that covers the gamut all the way back to straight-ahead Rock. He covered colors and textures of drums and cymbals for a very unique presentation that brought him out for an encore of his band/Living Colour, breakout hit "Cult of Personality" to a standing ovation. He left the building shortly following his performance and headed to the airport to go to Italy to begin European dates that will see them recording for their new CD.

Sunday September 21st as the day begin with Carmine Appice's latest Percussion venture called "SLAMM" that features 5 percussionists and a guitar player. They came out dueling on everything from Garbage cans and Trash Can Lids to Plastic Buckets & Snare Drums keeping the crowd entertained and involved for their short 10-minute performance.

Dafnis Prieto brought in the band from his latest CD "Taking the Soul for a Walk" and kicked the bar up a few notches, dazzling the crowd with his playing and composing technique?s bringing him 3 standing ovations. They blazed thru the set setting him up for solos in 3 different musical feels and tempos really showing off his amazing Musical skill. They quite literally blew the roof off the place leaving no doubt that there is a new talent on the world stage and his name is Dafnis Prieto... check out his website to hear some of his music. This is a musician not to be missed and well worth going out of your way to see as you'll be inspired by his performances without a doubt.

Todd Sucherman, known for his work with the band Styx and Brian Wilson, has released a DVD, "Methods and Mechanics" that will awe & inspire with his musical insight. For today's program Todd has pulled some from the DVD and solo performances culminating into one of his recent tracks from Styx recorded by Todd. His performance let his mastery of technique, time and balance shine thru his blazing chops as he thrilled the audience in attendance.
