The first-ever Heavy MTL festival happened recently in Montreal, QC. The weekend was filled with razor-sharp guitar riffs, crushing kick drums, cutting cymbals and relentless energy. It featured over 20 of the loudest bands on the planet including SABIAN artists Three Days Grace, Disturbed, Symphony-X, Unexpect, Type O Negative, Dethklok, Warrant and Lauren Harris.

With two massive stages populated by legends and rising stars alike, every artist had been selected to deliver an epic performance. From hard rock to death metal, from 80's glam to modern rock, Heavy MTL had it covered!

Neil Sanderson and Three Days Grace delivered a high-energy performance to an audience of over 15,000 people on Sunday evening. With great performances of their hits, Animal I've Become, Pain, I Hate Everything About You the guys from Peterborough, Ontario were very welcome in Montreal. Three Days Grace continues to tour in support of the award-winning album One-X while writing has begun for their new album to be released in early 2009. Commented Neil Sanderson "on these large festival stages I really rely on my APX cymbals to cut through, they never disappoint."

Also on Sunday evening Chicago hard-rockers Disturbed hit the stage for a mind-blowing set! With over 10 million records sold worldwide and with the release of their new album Indestructible, Disturbed came to Montreal to deliver a powerful performance. From their newest single Inside the Fire to their mega hit Down with the Sickness, Mike Wengren and the boys were one of the highlights of the weekend.

Although it was the first Heavy MTL festival, planning has already begun for 2009!
