Legend has it that Ponta has played on 10,000 albums! So great is his presence and influence, he's considered indispensable to the Japanese music scene. He is very particular about his instruments. When recording, he changes cymbal setups for each artist, for every tune. Like a true artist he values every sound and uses them to color the music.
