Biography

England's Toploader turned more than a few heads when a series of singles including the international hit 'Dancing in the Moonlight' drove their debut album, Onka's Big Moka, to platinum status. Pumping up the bands rock solid and locked in take on modern pop/rock is drummer Rob Green, whose is best described as a 'subtle powerhouse'. Controlled and musical yet in-your-face, his playing reveals a passionate player, a 21st century drummer with a retro perspective. His deep grooves and tasty fills point to a wide range of influences spanning jazz and funk to pop and hard rock, with an appreciation for players ranging from Buddy Rich to Ian Paice. With his setup of Hand Hammered, HHX and AAXplosion models Rob also reveals a taste for tone and power when it comes to cymbals. With their latest album, Magic Hotel, Rob and Toploader have once again delivered the goods for global success. The thought of playing new material always excites me, he says. And keeping it exciting is what it's all about.
