Biography

No one embodies the true spirit of artistic passion the way Venezuelan-born percussionist Richard Bravo does as evident from his ardent performances and numerous recordings.

His impeccable and precise musicianship has awarded him a body of work that encompasses over 800 recordings and 17 Grammy Award Achievement Certificates. From recording and appearing on International Superstar Ricky Martin’s MTV “Unplugged” release, to creating the incredible rhythms of the Multi-Platinum “Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira, he continues to push the envelope of artistic excellence.

Richard was honored to appear and record the Barry Gibb/Barbara Streisand C/D release which reunited these two musical giants and has continued appearing and recording with Barry who is planning a world tour in 2010.

Richard is currently the featured Percussionist for the highly successful Latin Brother Duo “Los Temerarios” which just finished a successful 13 week tour of the United States. They will soon embark on the second leg of the tour which will encompass dates in South & Central America as well as shows in Mexico.

Aware that education was the foundation for his future Richard, upon graduating from high school enrolled at the distinguished FULL SAIL Academy in Orlando, Florida and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering.

Richard will soon be a part of a stellar band heard on Univision’s new TV show “Vivendo E Sueno” (“Living the Dream”) to be broadcast worldwide which will debut on August 30th 2009.

Aware that he must continue to educate he also teaches at the Prestigious University of Miami a course entitled “Afro-Caribbean World Rhythms”. It is his hope and desire that his achievements in World Percussion will inspire future generations of Musicians to achieve their goal.
