Biography

Moved to New York City from Israel inspired to play drums after receiving his first set of drums at the age of 12. Studying Music Composition, Drums and Percussion under Shaul Shoval and later David Rich (Joe Morello student). He began professionally at the age of 16 performing and recording with Israel's Top Artist’s musically ranging from Rock, Latin, Jazz, Funk and Middle Eastern. He toured extensively throughout Israel making many national TV appearances. Deciding to set his ambitions for higher terrain Nir left behind his very successful musical career in Israel in 1993 to begin all over again in New York City. His decision ultimately led him to the drum throne once occupied by Phil Collins for the internationally acclaimed progressive band Genesis. having recorded on over 80 albums of which includes John Mayer's triple platinum album" Room For Squares " and among others, Nir has become internationally known & respected Drummer and in-demand Musician performing and recording throughout North America, Europe, Japan and Israel.
