Biography
'Big Mike' Clemons’ fascination with rhythm and percussion began at a very early age. His father soon recognized his young talent on the pots and pans and bought Big Mike his first drum set at the age of 3. Throughout his teenage years Mike predominantly played drums for his church, but upon graduating from high school, producer Stanley Brown offered him the opportunity to play for Aaron Hall, lead singer for R&B group, Guy. Mike then embarked on a rigorous session and touring schedule for major artists such as Usher, SWV, Dru Hill and Mary J. Blige. Taking some much-needed rest after coming off the Usher 8701 tour turned out to be a blessing when he was given the opportunity to produce songs for Mary J. Blige, SWV, Aaron Hall and a whole host of other artists.
Returning to his spiritual roots, Big Mike now ministers on the drums with Israel & New Breed, and Youthful Praise. Mike currently resides in Virginia Beach, VA with his wife and two wonderful children.
