Biography
Matthew is one of the most recognizable sidemen working in the Canadian country
music industry. He has performed with a diverse mix of artists from Canadian
legends like Tommy Hunter and Valdy, to Canada’s new breed of stars including
Patricia Conroy and George Canyon. More than a decade of Canadian Country Music
Association nominations, three CCMA awards, and dozens of albums attest to the
longevity and stature of his career. Outside of Matthew’s country music ties he
has maintained a vibrant session schedule working on projects from jazz, rock,
and pop artists, to jingles and the opening/closing ceremonies for the 2001
World Games.
Matthew has always enjoyed the chance to travel to new places, and has been
fortunate enough to tour across Canada, the U.S., Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and
Africa. He has especially enjoyed the opportunity to entertain Canadian troops
around the world as part of the Canadian Forces Show Tours programs.
Recently Matthew has been enjoying some touring opportunities with the
internationally renowned Abba tribute Bjorn Again, as well as Aaron Lines, and
Jason Blaine.
