The son of jazz drummer Bill McMahon, Ken started playing at age 3. He spent years studying with drummer Reg Keln (Lenny Breau, Fred Penner) and won the “Jimmy King Memorial Trust” scholarship in 1993.
Ken has played on more than 20 albums that have won numerous awards including 3 Juno nominations and 3 Western Canadian Music Awards. Ken has been nominated for the Maple Blues Award “Drummer of The Year” 3 times.
In the past 20 years Ken has played and recorded with a long list of artists crossing numerous musical genres including: Sue Foley, The Perpetrators, The Rockin’ Highliners, Pinetop Perkins, Duke Robillard, King Biscuit Boy, Big Dave McLean, Jack Dekeyser, Brent Parkin, Carlos Del Junco, Phillip Walker and Ray St. Germain.
