Jason Price is a professional drummer, teacher, and clinician in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. He is the co-founder and co-leader of The Skyway Jazz Orchestra which consists of many of the top players in the Twin Cities and has performed at The Twin Cities Jazz Festival, The Minnesota Music Educators State Convention and also for many private events. Jason also performs with The Jason Price Trio, Synergy, Elevation, The R Factor, and with Raymond Berg's Music Works Company, where he has performed at corporate events for Mercedes-Benz, GAP, Great Clips and Verizon Wireless among others. In addition to Jason's active performing schedule, he is on faculty at the nation's longest running jazz camp, The Shell Lake Jazz Camp in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, and maintains a private drum studio of 30 students per week. He is also an active drum set clinician and a full-time band and jazz band instructor at McGuire Middle School in Lakeville, MN. In addition, Jason is the Director of the DayJams Rock Music Camp's St. Paul, MN Campus. Jason Price is a SABIAN Cymbals Artist and Clinician, an Evans Drumheads Performing Artist and a Yamaha Peforming artist.
Jason has performed with Jon Faddis, Byron Stripling, Harold Mabern, Bill Reichenbach, Debbie Duncan, Robert Robinson, Michael Nelson, Laura Caviani, Dave Singley, Greg Keel, Kelly Rossum, Nick Schneider, Dominic Spera, Lennie Foy, Bill Sears, Dean Sorenson, Irv Williams, Peter Schimke, Ed Calle, and Slide Hampton. He also performed at the Valleyfair Amusement Park in Shakopee, MN for 5 summers and at the Mall of America theme park during college.
Jason has studied with Phil Hey, Joe Pulice and Ron Keezer. He has also received instruction from Peter Erskine and Steve Houghton. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he was a member of the Grammy-nominated and Downbeat award-winning Jazz Ensemble I under the direction of Robert Baca for three years. As a student, he also co-directed UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensembles IV and V for three semesters. Jason received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from UW-Eau Claire in 2002.
