I moved to Los Angeles while touring with India.Arie. Before that time, I performed, recorded, and toured a lot with various independent metal and rock bands, including The Aquarium Rescue Unit, as well as fronting my own Live Jungle/Drum N’ Bass group, Tria Di Luna. I began touring with India.Arie.in 2001, opening for Sade during her LOVERS ROCK tour. India was supporting her first major release, ACOUSTIC SOUL. We went to Bahia, Brazil to film Music In High Places: India.Arie - Live From Brazil. I recorded several percussion tracks on her VOYAGE TO INDIA cd which gained 2 Grammy awards, the year of its release. Afterwards, I began working with J-Pop superstar Utada Hikaru in support of her first U.S. album release, EXODUS. I then flew to Japan to record on Utada’s ULTRA BLUE cd. One of the singles, “Passion”, was featured in the video game, “Kingdom Hearts II”. The UTADA UNITED 2006 tour launched the following summer. When I got home, I began working with one of my folk heroes of all-time, Jonatha Brooke. I also began playing with the Crusaders (feat. Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, and Ray Parker, Jr.) on dates that Steve Gadd was not available for. I began playing with them on a full-time basis in the summer of 2008. While in the midst of these truly wonderful and inspiring projects, I am starting to dedicate more time to creating and producing music again – including my own.
