Biography
Bruno Meeus, started to play drums at the age of 11, practicing with an old tape recorder along with music from Queen and Deep Purple. He played his first concerts at the age of 12. Many years later Bruno became one of the leading drummers on the Belgian scene, playing mainly spectacular, groovy and experimental concepts. As an expert in Rock, jazz, funk and ethnic styles, Bruno toured through Europe and recorded with some of the most fantastic bands in the world, such as the Wizards of Ooze, the British blues Rock icon Stan Webb, Dutch entertainer Rick de Leeuw, Rock artist Bugs Henderson (US), Zap Mama (B), J.Mascis, Vitalsky, and fashion events (Diesel-Italy).
Today Bruno tours with Jurassic Jazz, Capsule, Mr.G&Blue Power (Wim Roelants) and theatre tours with Abbatoire Fermé. Through European seminars, master classes and demo's Bruno promotes how to mastermind the wormholes of polyrhythms, melodic twin pedal combinations and groove playing in general. Dia Meters, his instruction book offers a unique perspective on definitive changes in everybody's playing. In corporation with Group Alfred Bruno transcribed Virgil Donati's drum book.
